I‘m in love with this Christmas Crack recipe! It‘s easy, cheap and a sure crowd pleaser. I’ve been making this stuff for years! This simple saltine toffee recipe is the perfect combination of sweet and salty and will have everyone begging for more!

Need a quick and easy sweet treat that takes no time at all to prepare? This is it!

 

Ingredients:

  • 50 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 M&M’s

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a rimmed half sheet pan with parchment paper. Spread out the crackers in an even layer.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the brown sugar, stirring often. When the mixture starts to boil, stop stirring and let it boil for 3 minutes.
  3. Turn off the heat and carefully stir. Pour the mixture evenly over the crackers, spreading out as necessary. Bake for 5 – 6 minutes, until the mixture is bubbly.
  4. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top, and return to the oven for one minute. Take the pan out of the oven, and spread the chocolate in an even layer. Top as desired.
  5. Let the pan cool for a few minutes, then freeze for 15 – 20 minutes, or refrigerate at least 2 hours, until firm. Break into pieces and enjoy!
